India finds India’s win against West Indies in ODI 2
After a gripping battle between India and West Indies when on neck to neck closer, India performed better. India made few good decisions and their captain Virat Kohli should be praised over and again. He led from the front by scoring 120 off 125 balls and later on did good captaincy with the ball.
India scored 279/7, electing to bat first after winning the toss. There was some poor cricket from Rohit Sharma and Shikher Dhawan. But, Kohli did wonders again with his willow. India lost just too many wickets. However, Shreyas Iyer performed better and his partnership with the captain produced some much needed runs. The score then pushed over to 279 as Shreyas Iyer (71 off 68 balls) helped India pile up some quick runs. Kohli was the highest contributor in the match and he was delighted over the victory.
Later on when West Indies started their chase, it looked as if the match could go either way. Virat Kohli made some good bowling changes. He made Mohammed Shami and Khaleel Ahmed to bowl in tandem and they did well. By restricting the run flow, both these bowlers were quite happy enough. This situation of stopping the run flow was not enough for the Indian captain and he brought back Bhuvneshwar Kumar. His game changing over when he took two wickets was also not enough for Kohli. Indian captain threw the ball to Ravindra Jadeja and he produced a beauty and the ended the innings of Brathwaite.
All Indian bowlers were superb through out their performance with the ball. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was even more impressive as he claimed 4 wickets. The match then ended in favor of India. A win convincingly has happened again with the captaincy of Virat Kohli. Remember, there was no MS Dhoni in the match and India defeated the West Indies at Port of Spain easily.
