No 3 Kohli position in 2nd ODI vs Australia on Friday matters

No 3 Kohli position in 2nd ODI vs Australia on Friday matters

Australia in their first One Day International against India started with a thumping win. Australians defeated India with aggression and good pace bowling. No 3 position for Virat Kohli was hopelessly not utilized as he batted at no 4 in the series opener. KL Rahul scored a solid 47 at no 3 but he consumed too many deliveries. If Virat Kohli sent himself at no 3 then the game wasn’t regarded as one sided. India could’ve scored over 300 but might be still 1-0. Ricky Ponting told that the series outcome would be 2-1 in favor of Australians. He should change it to 3-0.

Aussies are getting stronger after a tough fight against Pakistan in their previous home series. But do Indian team feel about the emotions of the people of India? No, they play as if they’re already no 1 team before anything matters them. Indian team should fight hard and never try to play cricket as their neighbors. Pakistanis never bother to lose but India should come hard at Australia and remove their top order first. Rajkot pitch also favors Indian batting and should be utilized with Indian conditions & crowd support to play good cricket. Indian team must realize that it’s now or never and shouldn’t bow down to Australia on Friday.

India played like Minnows in their first game of the three match series against Australia. They scored a modest 255 and never looked comfortable. Indians also never tried to defend the total as they used to. They were again outplayed.

No 3 Always Good for Virat

If Virat Kohli averages over 50 batting at no 3 then why he has to change his position? He could’ve sent a pinch hitter at that position if he was afraid to face the pace attack of mighty Aussies. Rishabh Pant is an awesome player but unfortunately he was struck hard by a bouncer from Mitchell Starc. Bouncer did curved away and hit his helmet. Yet, the brave Pant is India’s new generation player and will rubbish that hit. He will come back strongly. Rishab Pant needs a good no 3 player around him as a partner to play his big shots. And Virat Kohli is no lesser than the best no 3 player for team India.

Experts say it will be 2-0 and then a white wash of the series by Australia and India will be under pressure. Nothing is impossible as India could fightback and win the remaining two games. Who knows? Cricket is a game of uncertainties. Let’s hope India wins Friday’s game to make 1-1 and level the series.
