This desert is 1,000 620 miles long, and 310 miles wide. The surface elevation of the desert varies from 2,600 feet in the southwest to around sea level in the northeast. The terrain is made up of soft sand with height up to 820 feet. Sand looks in reddish orange color not because of sunshine but it’s of originality of the color that’s found near to Saudi Arabia.

Living Desert Species History
Researchers say that the lakes were home to a variety of flora and fauna. Fossil remains indicate the presence of several animal species, such as hippopotamus, water buffalo, and long-horned cattle. The lakes also have smaller snails when conditions suit for freshwater. Deposits of calcium carbonate indicate the presence of plants and algae in the lakes. There was also some human activity dating from 3,000 to 2,000 years ago. However, no actual human remains have been found till date.
