Muslims believe in the Oneness of the Creator of the World, the Almighty Allah. This is what required for us to be thankful to the Almighty Allah always and in any situation. Seek the help from the Almighty Allah to worship Him alone for what reason? It’s because no one has the right to associate partners to the Almighty Allah and you should be the believer. Associating partners to Allah is big sin and why? This question needs to be discussed rather than an out an out direct answer.
Direct answer is that the Lord of the worlds is One. And everything belongs to the Almighty Allah and still you need to know more, right? He created everything and His creations shouldn’t be worshiped and we need to worship One Lord, Allah the Almighty. It’s a big sin to associate partners to the Almighty Allah, why?
Worshiping and believing in Oneness of the Almighty Allah is mentioned in the glorious Qura’n many times. You can find many miracles already mentioned in the glorious Qura’n more than 1400 years back. Science discovered these miracles only in the 18th and 19th centuries. That means science come to know about these miracles only since 100 or 200 years or lesser time. Many signs have been discussed in the glorious Qura’n, which’s itself a miracle.

Why Associating Partners to Allah is Big Sin?
In any context one can never commit Shirk (means associating partners to Allah is big sin). Associating some lesser being with Allah, you’re committing a major sin. This sin is committed if one imagines that there is a partner with Allah, whom it is suitable to worship. It is stated in the glorious Qura’n and with many verses like this: “Allah forgives not those, who associate partners to Him. But Allah forgives anything else, to whom He would. To set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin most heinous indeed” (Qura’n – 4:48).
Lo! Allah forgives not that a partner should be ascribed unto Him. He forgives (all) save that to whom He will. Whoso ascribes partners to Allah, he hath indeed invented a tremendous sin: English Qura’n Verse (Pickthall)

Worldly Life & Associating Partners to Allah is Big Sin…
Do you know that you were created differently and as an unique human being? When Allah has created you then He knows when to punish you and when to reward you with bounties and joy. The joy of this world is like a drop of water when compared to the life after death, which you consider as the ocean. A drop is too lesser than an ocean. A drop is your life of the world and the ocean is an unending life of the Hereafter.
Prepare yourself for the life after your death rather than involved in worldly affairs. However, every man is a shepherd to look after his flock. You need to work hard and try to earn halal to support your family. And the poor and at the same time do not associate partners to the Almighty. Worldly life is just very short and is considered as nothing much of pain or nothing more of joy.

Why Prophets Sent & For What Reason?
Ever since people innovated the dogma of Shirk, (i.e. joining others in worship along with Allah) Allah had been sending Prophets and Messengers to his devotees in order to invite them to the worship of Allah and Allah Alone, to order them not to ascribe partners unto Him and bring them out of the darkness of polytheism into the light of Monotheism.
All the Prophets preached Tauhid (i.e. Monotheism, the Belief in the Oneness of Allah, the Glorious, the Elevated. The following verses from the Noble Quran illustrate this fact: “Indeed We sent Noh (Noah) to his people, and he said: ‘0 my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him.
(La ilIaha illallah, none has the right to be worshiped but Allah). Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a great Day!”(V. 7:59). “And to ‘Ad (people, We sent) their brother Hud, He said : ‘O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La illaha illallah, none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Will you not fear (Allah)?” (V. 7:65) And to (the people of) Madyan, (We sent) their brother Shu’aib.

“And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): Worship Allah (Alone) and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah).” (V.16:36).
Every Prophet was sent unto his own nation for their guidance, but the message of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was general for all mankind and jinn. As in Surat al A’raf (Allah addresses His Messenger): “Say (O’ Muhammad): Verily, I am sent to you all as the messenger of Allah.’” (V. 7:158).
Associating Partners to Allah is Big Sin & Unforgivable
So the aim of sending these Prophets and messengers to men and jinn was only that they should worship Allah alone as Allah said: “And I (Allah) created not the jinn and men except that they should worship Me (Alone)” (V. 51:56).
And to worship Allah means to obey Him and to do all He has ordained, and to fear Him by abstaining from all He has forbidden.
Then those who will obey Allah will be rewarded in paradise, those who will disobey Him will be punished in Hell-fire. (Taken from Islam 360).
The severest punishment is of the Hell-fire. Some human beings will taste the punishment forever while others for some period of time. And some will be removed from Hell-fire after their punishment ends and they’ll be shifted to paradise. Disbelievers will taste Hell-fire indefinitely forever. Do you not consider yourself as a believer?
The Oneness of Allah, Who is Most Merciful
When Atheists abuse God then people often leave them and offended not much than when their loved ones abused. They leave this insult of God to the God alone and move forward without been hurt much. And carry on bothered also not much compared to their reactions when their loved ones abused.
Here, two things are there that they believe that God will react better than them against the insults to their God. And they also believe in the seen more than the Unseen. This is so because they get so much angry when their loved ones abused. Their loved one almost the seen ones. And so it makes sense that believers always keep patience in any circumstance.
As a Muslim I used to be offended when some miscreants used to insult my religion. This is so because they do not follow their religion better. And most of them considered to be Atheists as their worldly better life pleases them much more. I also realized that a Muslim submits his will to God. And he should keep patience always. And in any situation.
About Disbelievers or Atheists & More
Atheists are more in this World than believers. Believers have patience and you know Atheists have no religion but they belong to various religions. Even though they’re born in any religion and do not respect other religions then they’re Atheists. Because they do not fear of the outcome of their hatred. Most of the Muslims do not follow their religion Islam righteously.
They’re confused with false believes and misconceptions. They don’t read the Glorious Qur’an with understanding. And if they do read translation of the Glorious Book they choose wrong authors. The authors here are the translators, who translate the Qura’n not correctly.
The Main Author of Qura’n is one and only Allah the Almighty. He revealed Qura’n to the last and final Messenger Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) after revealing different books to the earlier messengers.
Islam exists since the man put his first foot on earth. Man learned many things. And when the Almighty pleased with the understandings of the human beings then he revealed the Glorious Qura’n. And from there since more than just 1400 years Islam progressed in rapid speed. You can find Billions of Muslims but good Muslims might be lesser.
The reactions from you when Atheists abuse God should be to be in patience and in calmness. And also you should not get offended when your loved ones abused in spoken words or written words. However, when anyone physically wants to hurt your loved ones then you need to protect them in any which way.
And when you’re not hurt much when God is abused then why you want to be offensive when your siblings or mother insulted with bad words?
Associating Partners to Allah is Big Sin & More to Know
You know very well that anything cannot be made with the power of itself. Let’s understand that even a pencil that you use to draw or write couldn’t be made by itself. There’s somebody, who makes everything that you need. And how can you believe that the stars, Sun, Moon or the Mountains and many famous natural resources made? If you consider a smallest thing couldn’t be made within with its power then how can you believe the World is created on its own?
No, there’s a Creator and who knows what you need and what benefits you and what harms you. So, do you not consider my appeal that even for example a bulb couldn’t be made by itself. So, then how can you imagine the huge bulb (The Sun) could be made by itself. How can a Sun be made by itself? The Creator created everything for you. And it’s for you to believe in the Unseen Creator because you can’t see him. You cannot see the Sun for a minute then how can you see the Creator to believe Him.
Yes, there will be the time when you’ll be able or capable to see God. Our God is the Creator of the Worlds. And you need to believe and believe in Him alone to worship Him alone.
