Oxford University vaccine suspended for having haraam ingredients?

An imam in Australia has asked Muslims not to get the vaccine for the COVID-19 disease, the Oxford University prepared. Imam Sufyaan Khalifa objected the vaccine, which was prepared using AstraZeneca.

Khalifa posted a video on his YouTube channel in which he blasted the methodology adopted by AstraZeneca. He claimed Oxford University making the vaccine using fetal cells of an aborted baby. The aborted fetus was supposed to be kept since 1970’s and later used for vaccine in a laboratory. Whatever might be the case but Muslims and Christians around the world claim that the vaccine is forbidden to be taken. This is so because of the haram ingredients used for the preparation of the vaccine.

“Shame on some Muslim bodies clarifying or justifying the use of the vaccine”, Khalifa said in his video.

A senior Catholic archbishop also recently warned that he is “deeply troubled”. The deal was done for Australians and around the globe even though the potential vaccine uses a fetal cell line. It creates an “ethical quandary” for Christians also around the world.

Imam Khalifa lashed out at Muslim bodies in Australia. “The Catholics have stood up against this clearly because they know it’s haram, it’s unlawful. But you stand with the government instead,” the Perth-based imam said. Further reports from Hindustan Times also confirmed this issue. It’s again something of concern going happen as this would become a big issue for Christians and Muslims.
