Dr. Abdus Salam, a Pakistani Nobel laureate in Physics visited India after he won Nobel Prize. He reached his pre-partition physics teacher Anilendra Ganguly’s house in Kolkata. He found him bedridden, but Mr. Anilendra Ganguly smiled at his student while lying on the bed. Though his physics teacher was bed ridden, Abdus Salam placed his Nobel prize medal in teacher’s hands and said: “Sir this is yours, not mine”. The physics teacher Anilendra Ganguly was so happy to see his student’s achievement. What could be a better gift for the bedridden teacher when his student traveled all the way from Pakistan to meet him?
Physics teacher was delighted to see Dr. Abdus Salam, and was so happy to see the medal that his hands started to tremble. That was an amazing story, which need to be told to our readers.
