India is in top position at present with a lead of over 250 runs. India lost 5 wickets early and the first session of the fourth day was in New Zealand’s hand. But again Shreyas Iyer performed with the bat in the second innings. He scored a half century after scoring a match winning century in the first innings. His half century so crucial that India back in first Test. A Test match much in favor of India than New Zealand because of final day’s play not to benefit the Kiwis.
Wriddhiman Saha also played a good knock so far and Ravichandran Ashwin also chipped in with some runs. Earlier, India lost top batters in the second innings. Losing Mayank Agarwal (17), Shubman Gill (1), Cheteshwar Pujara (22), Ajinkya Rahane (4), and Ravindra Jadeja (0), but Shreyas Iyer (65) saved India. It’s a fourth day of the first Test, which put India on top. New Zealanders were looking to chase anything below 180, but Shreyas Iyer and Wriddhiman Saha along with Ravichandran Ashwin performed. The top three performers from the bat, mostly Shreyas Iyer in both innings put India on top.
It will be good if India keeps the lead to about more than 300. The first Test match will be not anymore in the hands of the Kiwis. A mammoth target of 300 plus would be more than tough for the Kiwis to reach. It’s now unlikely for New Zealand to comeback in the first Test match as Shreyas Iyer and two other batters have put India on top. There will be some good bowling in the final innings by Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin to bowl out Kiwis. The result will be in favor of India.
