India On Top After Ajaz Patel Picks All 10 India Wickets

India On Top After Ajaz Patel Picks All 10 India Wickets

India is going strong in the second Test’s second day, where Mohammed Siraj put India on top. Axar Patel also bowled well along with Ravichandran Ashwin. Team India under the leadership of Virat Kohli looking far better than Team India previously under Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership. Previous Test match was the first Test, played at Kanpur and India was dominant there too. But it looks India on top even after Kiwi bowler Ajaz Yunus Patel put a little bit pressure on India, taking all 10 wickets. An achievement, which turned the match to become result oriented and India is likely to win the series 1-0. New Zealand lost too many early wickets. Siraj picked three wickets.

2 wickets to Axar Patel and also 4 wickets to Ravichandran Ashwin have given India’s returning captain Kohli to put more pressure on Kiwis. Jayant Yadav also picked a wicket. This story to have an inevitable end, where even if New Zealand battles hard, India will be mostly likely to win. This is so because of the pitch favoring spinners and again Indian pacers also bowling so good. That makes a great team effort to put India on top to bat well and bowl well. Kiwis on the other hand didn’t do good with the ball and with the bat.

Ajaz Patel took all 10 wickets, but India went on to score 325 runs. Anything around 300 runs on this pitch will be a good first innings score batting first or second. New Zealand is tottering so far.

New Zealand Surrendered

Having let wickets to fall so easily without doing any herculean effort, New Zealand is likely to lose the series. The two Test match series will be 1-0 win for India as the first Test ended in a draw. Still there’s a lot of fight from both teams to be watched. But it looks as if New Zealand surrendered too soon. New Zealand have not played to their potential so far. Bowling was not so impressive excluding just one bowler Ajaz Patel.

All the top and middle order batsmen played not a fighting cricket and suffered at the hands of India’s attempts to bowl best balls. Kiwis could have played better if they’ve chosen to read the pitch and have batted accordingly. There are two more innings left in the Test match. India has one and the Kiwis have one last (fourth) innings. Fourth innings of any Test match always will be tough to bat. However, if New Zealand have to save the Test match then they’ve to score at least 250 runs in their first innings. This score not achieved as New Zealand (Kiwis) bowled out for 62.

Virat Kohli decides not to impose follow on. India will bat again.

Currently, New Zealand looking to avoid follow on. A yet another interesting Test match, where Ajaz Yunus Patel becomes the third best bowler in the world to pick all 10 wickets.
