Mohammad Shami picks 5 wickets to put South Africa in trouble

South Africa’s fightback after losing 4 wickets at 32 runs on board ended when Shardul Thakur broke the partnership. The fifth wicket partnership was looking good, but Thakur bowled Quinton de Kock. Temba Bavuma went on to score a half century (52) after playing nicely along with Kock. He also in quick-time was out immediately after his crucial half century. Mohammad Shami dismissed him caught by Rishabh Pant. All genuine batters went back as South African bowlers batting to fight hard, where South Africa lost 7 wickets. Shami picked 5 big wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Shardul Thakur also picked wickets. Thakur picked two wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin went wicketless so far. Interestingly, Shardul Thakur also picked a big wicket ( of Kock) and also given too many easy runs. Marco Jansen got out to Thakur, but played good innings. Kagiso Rabada was looking good. However, South Africa managed to score 197. A lead of 130 runs for India is too good if India scores 200 plus and declares their innings because of the weather to go for a win rather than a draw.

A result would be an Indian win most likely. However, there’s still 50-50% chance for both teams. Also two more days of cricket left in this Test match. However, chances of a draw is likely because of the weather forecast. Tomorrow or on the final day, rains are likely to hit again.

Ravichandran Ashwin trying hard, but still wicketless. Not bowling to his potential. Maybe Ashwin is overrated. He can bowl nicely in Indian soil and also picks wickets. But he’s not so good abroad. Mohammad Shami picks 5 wickets. This is the highlight of India’s one of the best performances because the batsmen miserably failed today in the morning. India lost 7 wickets for just over 50 runs added. India – 327/10 and South Africa – 197/10. That’s it.
