Koppula Eshwar is the Hon’ble Minister for scheduled cast development and for taking care of Dalits, spoke to district collectors. He along with Sri Somesh Kumar, IAS., Chief Secretary to Govt, held a Video Conference with the District Collectors. All the way, it was planned to implement Dalit Bandhu scheme in Hyderabad on Saturday. Dalits in the Telangana State live in fear and mostly they work as minor laborers in India. Also Dalits taken to foreign countries on a contract basis to work as laborers with not much pay given. Koppula Eshwar talks to district collectors regarding the issue of Dalits to implement Dalit Bandhu scheme.
It was learned that previously Dalits were paid less than $2 per hour working for the govt in the United States of America. The underpaid workers also had to return back to India. Such kinds of projects also take full use of Dalit workers. Since Dalit troubled a lot in the North India, it’s good if Telangana State takes up steps to make Dalit lives better. Some more facilities like education to Dalits and scholarships to study in foreign countries also will be taken forward. Dalits have so far, not working in top positions.
A 2% of Dalits do work as professionals while the rest of the Dalits have nothing more than working as laborers.
