Women leading in every situation even when COVID affected

You might be wondering why this is not an ordinary evening? Also not an ordinary opinion about women leading in every situation despite affected more. The highs are pandemic affected women are in every sphere of their work and life to lead from the front. They juggled between home and work. Women also lost their livelihoods. Their work pressure can lead to mental health issues. But women fighting hard even with their hardest journey in the past two years. Their job losses were 1.2 times more than men.

Looking at women police officers, where 309 women accounts to 48% of Cyberabad police. The women force down with COVID. But, still they’re leading from the front. The women developed strength and adaptability. They continue to work more than their their strength and abilities. Women have the inner courage to reach out more and work more. They also have the ability to bounce back. Pandemic has shown how powerful women are?

“Empathize and support women”, said Stephen Raveendra, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad while addressing She-M-Power, Women’s conclave. The conclave organized jointly by Society of Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) and Cyberabad Police at HICC on Friday evening. 

The fourth edition of the  conclave was held in person and virtual. About 800 women, men and guests attended the conclave physical and online.

Respect, Reach, Rise and Re-bounce

Delivering her keynote address virtually from Delhi Ms. Dipali Goenka, CEO at Welspun said: “Feeling safe & secure is a basic need. After that only comes empowerment”. 25% of Welspun workforce are women and their number is growing. “We help women in every step. The ecosystem at Welspun is strong for women. Women need to be helped to improve their earning capacity. We promote a culture of equal opportunities in our organization. We promote the culture of women and support women at Welspun”, she said.

Women leading in every situation and also do multitasking at the time, not so suitable.

Participating in a panel discussion facilitated by Ms. Pratyusha Sharma, Joint Secretary of SCSC and Convener of SCSC Women’s Forum, and Mr. Krishna Yedula, General Secretary said: “SCSC is in its 16th year as the most successful IT  industry and Police collaborative model platform in the country. It is unique and first of its kind. The model is being replicated now in Pune and Chennai. Safety and security is taken care here. Inclusivity is the essence”. Also Mr. Yedula has put special attention over women leading in every situation.

The model expanded beyond IT to progress towards many other sectors — Pharmaceuticals, Health Care, Hospitality, Manufacturing and Infrastructure. “Safety and Security has to be holistic in nature”, he said.  

Krishna Yedula also informed that as 80% crimes are Cyber in nature, they will now focus on the subject and plans to organise Conclave on Cyber Security very soon.

Also Dr. Gurunath Reddy, Director & Founder, Continental Hospitals Wing, Cyberabad said: “Bharosa Centre, for women and children has been supporting women affected by violence. In private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace, which solved 1200 cases. 400 couples were re-united. She Teams also solved 8000 cases of harassment to women”.

Participating in a panel discussion on Reach, Ms. Shikha Goel, IPS, Director, Anti Corruption Bureau shared her journey of struggles. “My struggle basically was with myself rather than external world. From being a shy type till this stage, I have always challenged myself”. She also said. “I’m officer first and gender comes later”.

As mentioned above from the govt of Telangana, it explains women’s upbringing. “IAS officers do not come from affluent families. Like me so many come from middle class families”, Vishnu Priya said. “Thanks to Tommy parents upbringing, I’m always grounded. Why crib about problems and why can’t we be the change”. Adds up, Divya Devarajan.

“As an IAS officer, we get an opportunity to serve everyday. I can make many smiles. My job is very satisfying”. Also, Divya gave her concluding remarks.

A fire side chat was held with Dr. Ananda Shankar Jayant, Classical Dancer & Padma Shri Awardee. Sharing her journey as cancer infected and breast cancer survivor, she said: “It was just a page in my book and not the whole book. I made cancer into a dancer and pursue it even now”.

Divya Murarka, Author; Ranju Alex, Market VP, West India, Marriott Intl; Harini Madhira, Founder Cisne Events participated in a panel discussion on Rise, said working in a hotel is still perceived as a stigma.

Before the beginning of the conclave, a shuttle, a 10th one, was flagged off. It will travel from JNTU to Bio-Diversity Park.

The conclave concluded with panel discussion on Bounce Back.  Ms. Radhika C, Senior Director, Micron; Ms. Charulata Ravi Kumar, MD, Accenture, Dr. Gurunath Reddy, Director & Founder, Continental Hospitals also participated.
