The beatable teams, which India since over 10 years used to consider, were New Zealand, England, Australia, and Pakistan. All these four teams upfront are playing good cricket currently. Pakistan after white-washing West Indies in the ODI series of just three matches, have left India behind, in the ICC ODI team rankings. West Indies is a very good team in the white ball cricket. But couldn’t fight too good in Pakistan to win at least one ODI.

The attacking West Indies would also play India within couple of weeks time. This again would put India to fall even further down as India likely to play more T20Is this year. The ICC ODI team ranking is all important, but not for the World Cup to be played in India in 2023, soon after T20 World Cup finishes in Australia.

Earlier, some people started explaining that Pakistan would not likely to tour India in 2023 for the World Cup. This was so and was also of delight to so many India fans, but Pakistan played so nicely that they defeated West Indies 3 out of 3. Thus, Pakistan is placed at number 4. India is placed at number 5, in the ICC ODI team ranking. Remember, this ranking is not worth to note which 8 teams would play in 2023 in India for the World Cup. It’s too early to say.

Top 10 ICC ODI Team Ranking

The above rankings taken from David Kendix, from the ICC cricket on June 13 2022.

However, there are different other ICC super league rankings too. Bangladesh tops the table in this ICC super league table.

Here we go, this ICC super league ranking is all important for the teams to be included in the ICC World Cup 2023. The ODI World Cup will be played in India. Next to the table topper Bangladesh, is Afghanistan, England (3) and Pakistan (4). West Indies is placed currently at number 5 and India at 6. Australia (7), Ireland (8), Sri Lanka (9), and New Zealand is placed at the bottom of the top ten at number 10. As per June 13, 2022 update.

The top 7 teams from the above, would join India in 2023 World Cup in India. Bangladesh, Afghanistan, England, Pakistan, West Indies, Australia, and one other team likely to play the ODI cricket World Cup in India. The top 8 teams will be considered for the same.
