Bowlers for India under the captaincy of Jasprit Bumrah responded and bowled out England in the first innings with fire. England managed to score 284 runs as Jonny Bairstow played a very good innings of patience and aggression. He couldn’t save England as no partnership in the England innings was worthful.
Not a single partnership in the England first innings was more than 100 runs. The momentum shifted, taking India on top in this result oriented Test match. The last and final Test match of the 2021-2022 Pataudi Trophy to end in couple of days. This Test match win is inevitable for India and to win the Test series too, with a 3-1 equation. This sounds great. Isn’t it?
India winning the Test series away, is indeed another achievement. A Jasprit Bumrah captaincy, will be definitely memorable along with his all-round performance.

India scored 416 in the first innings. Rishabh Pant scored 146 off 111 balls. Ravindra Jadeja joined him and he also scored a very good century, taking the team out of trouble when 5 wickets fell in quick time. It took 194 balls for Jadeja to score 104 runs. A clean Test innings.
The execution of skills, aggression and patience were the key elements in this Test match. India would play aggressively during the fourth day of the Test match. Still on top with a lead of 257 runs. Which player or weather would save England from losing this Test match?
India still has upper hand and a good display of caution showed by Cheteshwar Pujara in India’s second innings. He scored 50 runs and is looking good, consumed 139 balls to keep one end safe. On the other end, Rishabh Pant playing his natural game and he’s batting on 30 runs of just 46 balls. Weather forecast for the last two days is almost a clear sky. Means some chance of rain, but play would carry on with some interruptions.
A lead of over 350 would put England under pressure. It’s likely that England would face more than 90 overs even if rain comes in between.
