Pakistan was feeling the heat of chasing anything over 300. A target of 342 was unimaginable to chase against a very good bowling. The Test match twisting towards Sri Lanka and then towards Pakistan as both teams have their own game plans. Captain Babar Azam plays a captain’s knock in both first and second innings to take Pakistan from deep trouble. But here we go, it’s again a long way to go.
Opening partnership of 87 helped a bit, but again Pakistan lost their second wicket. Imam Ul Huq was out stumped by Niroshan Dickwella off Ramesh Mendis. Again another wicket goes. This time it was Azhar Ali caught in the slips off Prabath Jayasurya. Dhananjaya de Silva took a very good catch. Babar Azam walks to the crease, and starts scoring runs quickly, to begin with two fours and a six.
Pakistan slowly, but surely from here on chipping well to reduce number of runs needed. Again Babar Azam plays so nicely to make things look too easy for Pakistan. Sri Lanka still keen to pick a couple or more wickets today, to put Pakistan’s lower middle order in. The tail would surely wag this time again. Who knows where this Test match going in whose way?
