Pakistan’s rotation policy in T20Is to comeback strong

Pakistan’s wicketkeeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan expressed his views to the media. He replied to many questions including why Pakistan’s middle order is so weak. However, Pakistan’s rotation policy in T20Is against England, aimed to play good cricket in the upcoming T20I World Cup. The T20I World Cup, just less than a month away.

Pakistan currently playing England at home after 17 years in the first in the history, a big T20I series. A seven match T20I series, hopefully would be interesting to watch few good cricket players, playing for Pakistan and England. Both teams trying their best.

Coming back to Rizwan, who said, “few recent failures in the middle order doesn’t mean, Pakistan team not at all playing good cricket. We’ll comeback strong in the next game against England, and in the T20I World Cup. I always look forward to play good cricket for Pakistan. But anytime as human-beings, experienced players too would fail. It’s normal”. Said Rizwan.

Captain Babar Azam, ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the year, and Shaheen Shah Afridi
for his prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year. Best T20I player Muhammad Rizwan in the middle.

“All players if play not just for their personal gains and look forward to play for the country, would definitely rise and shine”. Added Muhammad Rizwan. He also said Pakistan’s rotation policy would benefit Pakistan cricket team right from the next T20I against England in Karachi on Sept 22. It was just one crucial game, the final of the Asia Cup that Pakistan lost. Another game was not crucial, having lost to England in Karachi, yet Pakistan looked good.

Rotation policy to carry on a bit

The win probability for Pakistan is a bit too high than England. If winning becomes a habit since the second T20I, then Pakistan would play T20I World Cup in Australia as favorites. The second T20I in Karachi between #PAKvENG likely to bring cheers to the Pakistani cricket fans. A tough game, but a tough fight by the playing 11, would be easy in the end for Pakistan’s triumph. A win at Karachi against England would change the scenario. From the next T20I, the T20 series would be levelled as 1-1 and then 5 more games to go.

Always in conditions unsuitable for Pakistan fast bowlers, the pitch used to be prepared. However, Shadab Khan and Asif Ali likely to comeback strong. A win and more wins likely to be in the pocket of captain Babar Azam. Babar Azam played a short, but a well compiled innings in the last T20I. But England picked wickets at the right time after few dot balls bowled, which had put the run scoring difficult.

Pakistan tried to play big shots rather than looking for a score of 170 plus, and ended up scoring just 158.

It looks that Pakistan’s rotation policy in the T20I series can shift the momentum towards Pakistan. In any case a Pakistan win on cards on Sept 22.

T20I 2 of 7 T20Is at Karachi National Stadium is on Sept 22. Start Time: 7: 30 pm (Pak). The pitch likely to help slow spin bowlers rather than fast bowlers. Toss will be not crucial.
