India played old fashion cricket on day 1 against Bangladesh

The morning started with some good quick runs on the board. India openers Shubman Gill and KL Rahul were a bit cautious enough to score over 40 runs in 13.1 overs. However, India played old fashion cricket to score 112/4 at the end of 31.4 overs. KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant left the crease when India were 112/4.

At 41 runs on the board, Shubman Gill got out. A delightful beginning for Bangladesh Test cricketers and for the crowd. Since then, Bangladesh applied more pressure on India, but dropped three catches. Missed at least 4 chances. One of them was to not take review as the catch was taken and umpire didn’t given it out. But the ultra-edge view showed that there was clearly an edge when the ball passed the bat.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer played old fashion cricket again and pulled India out of deep trouble. Unfortunately, Pujara was out scoring 90 runs in as many as 203 balls. Also, his record shows that he haven’t scored a Test century in his last 51 innings.

Shreyas Iyer played a good knock, but consumed too many balls as the next batter Axar Patel couldn’t last for long.

Playing full quota of 90 overs on a brighter day in Bangladesh’s Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium, India at stumps scored 278/6. Day 2 begins at 9: 30 am Bangladesh time and at 9: am India time. India did well to score 278/6 as the tail is just too long. After Ravichandran Ashwin, the tail starts and can wag too. Shreyas Iyer on 82 off 169 balls and Ravichandran Ashwin yet to face a ball would be at crease on day 2 morning.
