South Africa have defeated the buoyant England in 2 in 2 ODIs played so far of the series of three. South Africa scored nearly 300 runs in the first ODI (298) and defended the target set for England comfortably. However, England scored 342 in the second ODI and couldn’t defend. Here, it’s game on as South Africa to whitewash England tonight to qualify in ODI World Cup. How this would likely to happen. More so, it would more likely to happen.

South Africa playing their full strength team with just a couple of players injured and so do England too. Temba Bavuma in a heroic comeback playing so good and it’s so good to watch him play that way. Aiden Markram and David Miller also contributing with the bat to strengthen South Africa’s run chase or to set a good target to defend.

England is not so far away to comeback and win the final ODI of the series for some pride and to finish off in a better way. However, South Africa have reason to win this last ODI of the series too. They would play accordingly to the conditions and would play in a controlled aggression to put pressure on England.

Inching towards a clean sweep or a whitewash, South Africa showed where they stand and England lost the momentum. England is shocked how they’re losing to a side, which’s not yet qualified for the ODI World Cup to be played in India this year.

According media reports: If South Africa win each of their last three ODIs, they’ll automatically qualify for the ODI World Cup. They just need to win as many ODIs as possible. They can overtake Sri Lanka in the next two months. The intent is clear to not go for the qualifying rounds and win yet another ODI to whitewash England. This way, South Africa definitely will have a last laugh. They’ll play ODI World Cup 2023 in India as one of the favorites.

Up to this level, India, Australia, and England are three teams so far, the favorites to win the ODI World Cup. India as a host and currently the number 1 ODI team will be then joined by one more team, which would be none other than South Africa. Leave Pakistan, New Zealand and Sri Lanka aside because these three teams still need to show the intent.
