Unlike New Zealand tour of Pakistan, England tour of Bangladesh starting with an ODI series. Also Australia tour of India starting with a 4 match Test series with the FIRST test on Feb 9-13, and 3 match ODI series (Mar 17-22). However, the first ODI between England and Bangladesh will be on March 1. Bangladesh to play England at home, three ODIs and three T20Is with their full-strength team. England will be short of some top players thanks to PSL.
ODI ONE of three will be played on March 1. ODI TWO of three will be played on March 3 followed by the FINAL ODI to be played on March 6 to conclude the ODI series #ENGvBAN. The T20I series will begin soon after. FIRST T20I will be played on March 9. SECOND one, on March 12. THIRD T20I of the three match T20I series, will be played on March 14.
The PSL (Pakistan Super League) will be starting from Feb 13 and will see off top English players on March 19 (end date). The dates, Feb 13 and March 19, coincide with England tour of Bangladesh.
So, most of the top English players have lucrative contract with PSL and so are unavailable. Earlier, BCB (Bangladesh Cricket Board) and ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) agreed to postpone their cricket schedule, which was to be played prior to the 2021 T20 World Cup in the UAE (United Arab Emirates).
The postponement have hurt England. But an opportunity of bringing few new faces to the England team to play Bangladesh in Bangladesh.
However, Bangladesh’s BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) will be nowhere around England’s tour of Bangladesh and so all top players from Bangladesh would likely to play and try their best to win both shortest and middle format white ball games.
A whitewash of England by Bangladesh in the white ball cricket is round the corner within 41 days. But if couple of new faces from the English side and some experienced players play good cricket then Bangladesh would be not again the TIGERS at home.
