Bumrah should learn taking wickets not just conceding less runs per over

Jasprit Bumrah is India’s best cricket bowler in all formats of the game. Yet, he needs to learn to take wickets. He bowls tidy length and changes it before his follow through when batsmen want to hit him. This way he concedes less runs and is considered most economical bowler but not as an attacking option. That’s the reason he’s handed the ball in the second over of the Indian bowling innings.

In the 44th match of the world cup India played better against Sri Lanka because they’re better than Lankans. Bumrah should have taken more wickets against Sri Lanka for making happen a much bigger victory. Well, he conceded 37 runs in his quota of 10 overs and got wickets with the batsmen’s mistakes. It’s high time that India should not play Bumrah as their defense and look for other bowlers to get wickets.

However, Jasprit Bumrah at last grabbed three wickets of Lanka and that added to his world cup tally of wickets. But, he’s not in the top wicket taker list in this world cup. Bowlers like Mohammed Amir, Michel Starc and others find their names in the top four while Bumrah didn’t.

The coach should make him to play as attacking bowler and that will be a boon for India. If their second pacer like Bhuvneshwar Kumar fails to deliver then, who’s going to take for India more wickets? There’s straight forward decision India needs to make by bowling Bumrah right from the start. Attacking bowlers if go for runs in the first over then Bumrah comes in the next over only to restrict run flow. Thereby, if he gets wicket luckily then he gets praised for no herculean effort.
