Haj pilgrims fly to Mecca as they wait in queue at airport

Hajj of this year will see more number of pilgrims from across the globe to perform this important good deed. It’s nice to see Muslims from India in large numbers this year traveling for the most expensive good deed. Haj is the fifth pillar of Islam after believing in Oneness of God, offering five time obligatory prayers, charity and fasting. Muslims keep fast in other days like on Thursdays as their Nawafil fasts (not compulsory) including their fasting in Ramadan.

It was believed that fasting during Thursdays in ordinary months, which’s by not including Ramadan is the best deed. Fasting in the month of Ramadan is must for every adult healthy Muslim. Children can start their fasting since their ages from 9 years and so on. But, when they grow up a bit more and are over 13 years of age their fasting becomes obligatory.

The five time prayers in Islam are compulsory even if a Muslim is sick or healthy. If he or she is sick then he or she can offer prayers by sitting or lying down on the bed. However, after performing haj, a Muslim becomes cleansed from all his or her sins. If he or she never does any sin after performing haj then it’s believed that his or her haj has been accepted.
