Passive voice in your content needs to be avoided to make it interesting

Let’s see what needs to be avoided in our content and needs to be there to make your story interesting. Stories might be your piece of work of your well written content such as an article or a report. Passive voice examples might be like the following:

Passive Voice Examples

  1. The Chief Minister speaking on the occasion, said he wants to build a bridge in the old city.
  2. Prime Minister of India, who always breaks his promises, will be visiting Italy tomorrow.
  3. Home Minister of the State lands in trouble with his unacceptable behavior, which is wearing always white dress.

Above three examples are of passive voice. Active voice is not used here in the three examples given. This is how the content is not well written. What I did earlier in the three examples is that I wrote sentences the other way round. “The Chief Minister speaking on the occasion, … reads on about the use of passive voice. Moreover, you can see all the three examples, which use passive voice as I used right now with this sentence.

Use of active voice in your content is required to make it readable. Passive voice needs to be avoided. Active voice helps the readers to understand your content and it also makes your content readable. Thus, it’s good to begin with the example 1 and make some correction. The Chief Minister was speaking on the occasion. He wants to build a bridge in the old city. Breaking the long sentence into two parts not always necessary but the use of active voice is better for good readability.

Examples of Active Voice

  1. Today is August 1, 2019
  2. Tomorrow I would be attending the meeting at 2 PM
  3. Steffi Graf spoke about her husband today.

Here, I said directly using the main subject in the beginning such as today, tomorrow, and Steffi Graf. All three examples used active voice and begin with the main subject and end with completing the sentence. It might not make your article or a story to be in grammatical error if you use passive voice. Assuming that it’s necessary for you to use active voice always makes sense. Theoretically, when you use active voice more and less of the passive voice then readers will complete reading your content. Further, they shouldn’t leave your content half way and stop reading it completely.
