Chief Secretary Shri Somesh Kumar IAS informed the central team of Telangana State. Telangana State government will take all measures to minimize huge losses from the recent heavy rains. The five member inter ministerial team has come forward. And the team led by Shri Praveen Vasishta, joint Secretary Government of India. He was given a power point presentation and and he was reported about the huge damage caused.
A photo exhibition was arranged to investigate the damages caused by the heavy rains in Telangana State. Further, as the Telangana State reported with huge losses, Chief Minister KCR will take necessary action.
Officials of Irrigation, Municipal Administration, R&B, GHMC, Water Board, Agriculture, Energy and Panchayat Raj interacted with the central team. And presented an overview of the loss incurred in the State. Officials informed that there was excess rainfall during the last ten days, which has resulted in flooding. Though there were rains in the allover the State, there was excessive damage in and around Hyderabad. And other neighboring districts. Three major tanks coupled with flooding in Musi river and resulted in huge damage to the low level areas.

Damage to public infrastructure was enormous and the state government had already made a preliminary assessment of the damage. While the loss to crops was estimated at Rs 8633 crores, loss to roads was estimated to be around Rs 222 crores. The loss to GHMC was estimated to be around Rs 567 crores.
The Telangana State reported with huge losses. And so the State government has released Rupees 550 crores for immediate flood relief.
Food packets supplied to more than two lakh people, which were not sufficient. 1 kilogram of bleaching powder and 3 lakh chlorine tablets supplied, has not reached to the affected people. However, 15 sub stations, which were submerged, brought into service within 48 hours. Further help from the govt needed as the Telangana State reported with huge losses of people around Hyderabad in particular.
