Women help desk started from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport

Women help desk Inaugurated by Cyberabad CP Sri VC Sajjanar, IPS at RGIA:

Commissioner Of Police, Cyberabad Sri VC Sajjanar, IPS inaugurated Women help desk. He along with Shamshabad DCP N Prakash Reddy, DCP Traffic SM Vijay Kumar, IPS, W&CSW DCP. And a few others like Anasuya Pradeep, CEO, GHIAL, MK Singh DIG/ Chief Airport Security Officer, CISF. Also with Bharat Kamdar, Head – Security, GHIAL and other officials took forward Women Help Desk at RGIA Airport. RGIA is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

Speaking to the Media Cyberabad CP Said: “Telangana Police and Cyberabad Police are very much committed for the safety of women and children. In this regard to help women and ensuring safety and security of women, a dedicated Help Desk for Women launched”.

RGIA is the 4th busiest airport in India after Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore airports. RGIA handles 22 million passengers per annum, Approximately 62000 passengers per day. 30 to 35 % of these passengers are women, which is around 9000 to 9500 passengers for both arrivals and departures. 

In order to help women who are travelling to Hyderabad on work or other reasons Cyberabad Police has taken the initiative to establish Women Help Desk at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. It’s for women to reach out for help in case of any emergency. The desk will be monitored by the RGIA Police Station. There will be women police constables available 24/7 at the Women help desk to help the women.

Cyberabad Police request all the women suffering from teasing, stalking or any other atrocity to approach the SHE teams. They can do so as easily as using WhatsApp messages to the mobile no. 9490617444 or DIAL:100.

Cyberabad Police started a Women and Children Safety Wing in Cyberabad consisting of “SHE Teams and Bharosa for women”. “Smile team and Bala Mithra for children” and “Aasara for destitute senior citizens”.  

In association with SCSC, Cyberabad police has launched Margadarshak program for helping women in the IT industry and Sanghamithra program for women living in the communities. A SHE safe App also launched this year with information on women safety. It also provides verification of safety in hostels for working women. SHE Shuttle Buses also launched for free transportation to women in IT Corridor.”

SHE Teams of Cyberabad catering to the needs of increasing number of women, who are coming forward to register complaints. Total 10 teams are working in Cyberabad to cater the needs of more number of women and children. Apart from this, SHE Teams keep a sharp eye on the miscreants causing nuisance in public places. Total 1528 complaints were received in 2020 from women victims through different means like WhatsApp, email, etc.
