The Asia Cup 2023 host is Pakistan. But the six nation tournament currently in jeopardy because of BCCI’s preference to shift it entirely from Pakistan. India won’t visit Pakistan due to security issues whereas all top cricket teams since 2-3 years enjoyed playing in Pakistan. However, Asia Cup final decision is postponed to May 28 or May 29 after the IPL (Indian Premier League) final. The IPL final will be between Chennai and Gujarat on May 28, Sunday.
PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) assured BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) about team India’s safety in Pakistan. However, PCB chairman Najam Sethi also proposed hybrid model to BCCI to not play their Asia Cup matches in Pakistan. “It’s fine if India doesn’t want to come Pakistan”. Said Najam Sethi.
ACC president Jay Shah still needs to accept Sethi’s hybrid model for the Asia Cup 2023. The hybrid model goes like playing at least 4 initial matches in Pakistan and then move from Pakistan to a neutral venue to complete the tournament.
Since Asia Cup final decision postponed to May 28 or May 29 after the IPL (Indian Premier League) final, no neutral venue yet confirmed. The confirmation of the neutral venue would be in coordination with BCCI and PCB after an informal meeting on May 28. During the IPL final, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lankan chiefs would discuss about the neutral venue of Asia Cup 2023. Newcomer to Asia Cup, Nepal’s chief also likely to be in India on May 28.
Asia Cup Final Decision – Neutral Venue For 9 Matches

BCCI secretary and president of ACC (Asian Cricket Council) Jay Shah after having talks with at least 3 other nations excluding Pakistan would definitely take Asia Cup final decision in coordination with PCB. It will be interesting to know how Najam Sethi accepts the ‘final decision’ to further confirm the Asia Cup 2023 schedule in coordination with the broadcasters. It’s just a matter of 48 hours. The decision or final decision would come surely.
