Dhoni Fans: How long Dhoni will play cricket for India in ODIs

MS Dhoni is currently cool and in comfort zone while playing for India in One Day Internationals. His quietness over retirement issues seems to irritate many cricket experts. Once before 2019 world cup, Rahul Dravid wanted clarification for keeping Dhoni in the world cup squad or not. He questioned two years before the 2019 world cup to know about Dhoni’s selection. Dravid felt Dhoni might not be fit at the age of 37 to score quick runs in 2019 world cup.

Experts also believe that Indian players want to continue playing cricket as long as they get selected in the squads. Selectors also feel amused over dropping such legends, who in the past performed better but not playing good cricket in the present. Riding on his previous milestones, MS Dhoni wants to play for more years and it will be no good for the future of Indian cricket.

Age Factor for Dhoni not Decisive

Steve Waugh also said that subcontinent players never quit until they get exposed to continuous weaker abilities than playing good cricket. Reacting to this Dhoni’s well wishers spoke on behalf of him and he also reacted. They’ve said that Steve Waugh also played cricket for a long time after his retirement age. Yes, Steve Waugh did played for a long time but as a captain and he was performing well. Imran Khan also played after his retirement when he was called up by the PCB to resume playing for his country. All these factors cannot hide the intentions as such.

Senior aged players must be dropped and young blood should be induced. India have already shown to the world that they’re the best. So, Dhoni thinks he’s much better than the youngsters. Time will come soon when the Indian squad leaves Dhoni either for West Indies tour or thereafter the next.
