Right before India started chasing a below par score of 240 runs to win the game, Indian fans ordered sweets. Most of them even seen in the firework shops to celebrate India’s victory after the match. The intent was there but as soon as the match started India lost three important wickets at a score of 5.
India kept losing wickets in the middle overs as well and Dhoni with Ravindra Jadeja played this time pretty well. Against England in their world cup game, Dhoni was seen knocking the ball around for singles. However, during that moment India was in need of 13 runs per over but Dhoni was quite. Today, he played well and with Jadeja; there was a late flourish and a poor slog led to Jadeja’s downfall. And that was the end of India’s hopes to be alive. But, Dhoni started hitting the ball hard and was out by a neat throw from Guptill.
Poor India lost the match after Dhoni; others followed him to lose the match by 18 runs. India was all out and New Zealand celebrated their victory on a high note to advance into the final.
In India many sweet sellers had a good day as online purchase of sweets were abundant after New Zealand finished their innings. Chasing a meager 240 was easy for the Indians and they were confident to advance into the final. But, fortune favored the brave and bravery of the Kiwis was seen with their intent to reach world cup final.
It’s sad that the sweets have been kept at Indian homes unattended and also the fireworks. People started cursing Indian team and their wastage of money and prayers vanished like a thin air concerned them a lot.
