Cricket talent & cricket skills best tested through Test cricket rather than shortest format of T20. T20 cricket is a 20 over per each side game and is the most popular & shortest International format. Currently India is at top position in ICC Test rankings. Not far behind in ODIs (One Day Internationals) and T20s. India ranks second in ICC ODI rankings and fourth in the ICC T20 rankings.
Ravi Shastri is happy with Indian cricketers’ performances in T20s. And he is focused over the shortest format because India will emerge as best T20 team in the World. This means India wants to occupy the current position of Pakistan in T20s. Thus, Indians will be happy to leave Pakistan behind as Ravi Shastri is concerned only about India’s T20 victories. Losing the top spot of Test cricket matters not and even that of the ODIs to Ravi Shastri.
He wants India to win every game of the shortest format. Fortunately at the last minute India pulled T20 wins from the jaws of New Zealand. And won the T20 series 5-0. Hence, India whitewashed New Zealand in the shortest format. But soon after the T20 series India lost all three ODI games to New Zealand. New Zealand returned back defeats after defeats to India including the first Test match thumping victory. Second Test match is ongoing at Christchurch in New Zealand. Still it looks as if India will be defeated again and lose the series.
Ravi Shastri looked composed when he told India is playing good cricket at the moment. But we at inhandwriter realized that India is doing better only in the shortest format. It looks as if India will not find peace if Pakistan remains at top in the shortest format for long time.
