Whether India playing Australia or any other team, it looks if given a chance right before any World Cup ODI, there would be a big 15 member huddle, all looking to play at their very best and would perform to the best of their best skills. It’s too early to say India is a clear cut or hot favorite. But Rohit Sharma confident of winning start to maintain momentum to clinch the 2023 World Cup at home in about 50 days. This World Cup in India, already in the shadows of rain, and so a good NRR matters a lot.
Every match would be crucial for every team. Rohit Sharma when asked “who are the teams you look for, to win the World Cup in India”. He said, he can’t do that work of announcing the winner. That’s very well said!. Count one debate, you get more. Looking at KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan debate, you’ve Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav too. With Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav in the team, India do have Ravindra Jadeja. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj would most probably play on Oct 8. Hardik Pandya again would be handy with both ball and bat. Mohammed Shami as one of the best bowler, would be warming the bench.
It’s tough, but good headache to choose a playing 11, where all 15 players are ready and fit. Australia on the other hand would be looking forward the same way as they too have similar options. In fact they’ve 14 members currently. They replaced Labuschagne as an allrounder in place of Agar. Warner. Marsh and Smith would be their main players as batters. Starc, Cummins would be in the tail as handy batters too. However, if India picks Kuldeep, Siraj, Bumrah and Shami, the tail would be longer than the Aussies.
Seeing that Rohit Sharma confident of a wiining start against the world’s best team to play on Oct 8, it’s 60 – India and 40 – Australia.
