Irfan Pathan, one of the best allrounder, India produced is more than happy. He said “I’m not superstitious at all, but who knows what can happen?. I started wearing this light blue suit (a blazer & same color trouser) the last time India defeated Pakistan and today would be the same”. Again, Irfan Pathan’s so called not so serious superstition worked out for him. India won the match in the end.
A good start by Rohit Sharma, but when Virat Kohli, failed, the former got out too. But the run-rate was very good. However, Pakistan attacked India fearlessly, giving away too many easy runs to pick wickets one after the other. They thought they can chase 120. India played some good shots and it looked good in the beginning until Rishabh Pant got out.
Wickets fell even though more than couple of chances were dropped. Babar Azam was nervously smiling to anticipate that Pakistan can move forward to gain two crucial points.
India on the other hand was all-out for 119. “A very good performance by Pakistan”, said Ravi Shastri. Mohammed Amir bowled well and said: “We still need to bat well, but we did well with our bowling”. Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, Imad Wasim and Mohammed Amir bowled India out for 119, and the last wicket was a runout.
Pakistan played as per their limitations to not hit more big shots, and tried their best to gain two points. United States and many more nations were also watching this match along with India and Pakistan. The United States were looking for an India win to take a second place by replacing Pakistan to join the super-eight teams. A good performance and under pressure Pakistan was so happy to chase down 120, but in the end they faltered.

Yet again today, he wore the same and with his ‘subconscious superstition’. Irfan Pathan is a commentator who comes in to speak more during prematch session or between the break-time. He was a clear match-winning bowler for India on his peak time.
He bowled Pakistan’s legend Shahid Afridi on many occasions. So smart Irfan Pathan wears same, but to not wet his face by controlling the tears of joy. The time to show some respect to the Pakistani bowlers wasn’t in team India’s mindset. However, earlier Pathan warned that Pakistan bowlers would threaten India on this bowling friendly pitch. That happened, but Pakistan’s batting let them down.
Pakistan in the end lost this game so easily and if they played caution with aggression, all the 20 overs they would have gained two points.
However, India was so keen to score more than 150 on a 130 score pitch. Except Rishabh Pant all other top batters including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma failed miserably, and so Irfan Pathan was right that India would win. It was a do or die game for Pakistan and they did it to their early exit, they did as usual. They didn’t chased a low score this time comfortably, but lost the match under pressure of keeping wickets in hand.
India can reach the super-eight stage by winning one out of two more games. Pakistan have to win two more games too. These games aren’t so easy for India and Pakistan, but they’ll play not the experienced teams in their group. However, the associate nations are no mug with the bat and ball. United States’ fielders are amazing, they can take blinders.
It was a shocker to Pakistan fans as soon as Pakistan lost Babar Azam who played not a bad shot and was brilliantly caught by Suryakumar Yadav. Then again in the middle overs, Bumrah was brought back, he picks Rizwan and the crowd from India’s side pumped up. However, Pakistan was determined to play out Bumrah’s overs and the run chase was on. At that point, Pakistan still required 39 runs of 32 balls. Bumrah was bowling his third over.
Hardik Pandya picks two wickets as well and Pakistan were 88 for the loss of 5 wickets in the 16th over. India was back in the game and just 3 overs remain, 30 runs still required.
A tough decision here for Rohit Sharma to take. He brought back Mohammed Siraj. Siraj tries hard and Pakistan picks 9 runs off Siraj’s fourth over in which he bowls a noball too, and a free hit was taken for couple of runs. Pakistan needs 25 from 15 balls at that moment and it was going to be too much tight a match. Low scoring and very interesting.

Pakistan reached 100 runs on the board for the loss of 5 wickets. Bumrah was bowling superbly his last over, and he picks Iftikhar. Game over for Pakistan, but it’s not over until it’s over. The final over, which was bowled by Arshdeep who picks a wicket too, and the end. Pakistan loses. India wins by 6 runs. What a match that was, and to remind what India can do.
