Dream comes true for 21 Sikh couples get married in mass marriages


With blessings of the Almighty, it was a dream come true for 21 Sikh couples who got married in a befitting manner. Moreover, without spending a penny that too in the presence of over 25,000 Sikhs, who visited the ceremony of mass marriage. Visitors from different parts of the state blessed the newly wed couples at Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet.

Couples’ Parents Very Happy


The happiest of them were the couples’ parents who never dreamed of their sons and daughters getting married in such a grand function. They got married in a befitting manner that too without incurring any expenditure from their pockets.


Thanks to the important committee members for making the impossible dream come true for the new couples and their parents.


On Sunday, as many as 21 couples got married at “Samuhik Vivaha Samaroh” (Mass Marriages) at Sri Guru Gobind Singhji Sports Ground, Ameerpet. Married under one umbrella of Gurudwara Saheb Ameerpet with the cooperation of Prabhandak Committees of Sikh Gurudwaras in Telangana and Telangana Sikh Society.

Religious Heads from Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded; who were specially invited for the occasion blessed the couples.

Brides & Grooms from Different Places


Most of the brides and bridegrooms hailed from Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Miryalaguda, Medak districts and Maharashtra, Karnataka and other states.

The Prabhandak Committee made all arrangements plus providing free accommodation facilities, Guru-ka-Langar (breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea and snacks etc) for last three days.


The most heartening part was that all the Sikh Gurudwaras of Telangana extended wholehearted support for the successful conduct of these marriages. Various Gurudwara Committees, Telangana Sikh Society and individuals presented almost all the required domestic articles to the newly married couples which will  help in settling their lives.


People expressed happiness and complimented the Prabhandak Committee of GSA for the tireless service that they provided in solemnizing the marriage of Sikhs who cannot afford luxurious marriages. 


Earlier, the Prabhandak Committee said, only Gurmukh and Amritdhari Sikhs allowed to participate in the marriages.
