India world cup squad looks better not best

With the inclusion of Dinesh Kartik, Vijay Shankar and Rohit Sharma, India’s world cup squad looks not the best. Selectors did a good job but not the best. Watching Rohit Sharma play cricket being in good form is awesome. He was the “hit-man”, but at present he is not at his best. Rohit Sharma might disappoint with failures in his batting while Virat Kohli needs his support to boost Indian batting lineup.

Again, Dinesh Kartik with his abilities for good stroke play needs to stay for about 10 overs or more. In fact, Kartik usually makes good starts and never builds up his innings then eventually gets out. So to say only Virat Kohli, KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya are the three formidable players and can bat well.

As far as bowlers are concerned, Jasprit Bumrah along with Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar can be at their best. However, India still needs a couple of good spin options, where they can contain the flow of runs. Haven’t seen this happens with Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav as both can take a wicket or two but can concede more runs. Their economy in this 2019 world cup might be worrying as each match in this world cup is crucial. India needs to focus on winning every match and that can happen if batting looks the best.

The injury to Kedar Jadhav is also of worrying as his typical style of batting gives his team the impetus in maintaining better run-rate. Hope he recovers soon to be able to play all the matches of the 2019 world cup.
