Seed Exhibitions held at various places to purchase seeds for agriculture

The Minister for Agriculture of Telangana State Sri Singireddy Niranjan Reddy here on Friday inaugurated the Seed Mela – 2019. This seed exhibition held at the Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University(PJTSAU) Auditorium premises in Rajendranagar. PJTSAU has organized the Seed Mela – 2019 (Seed Exhibition) from today. Their collaboration with Department of Agriculture, Department of Horticulture and  various others institutes henceforth successful.

Following Research Institutes involved in Seed Exhibition:

  1. Local ICAR Research Institutes such as Indian Institute of Millet Research (IIMR)
  2. Indian Institute of Rice Research (IIRR)
  3. Indian Institute of Oil seed Research (IIOR)
  4. Central Research Institute for Dry land Agriculture(CRIDA)
  5. ATARI, NAARM, directorate of Poultry
  6. National Seeds Corporation(NSC)
  7. Telangana State Seed Development Corporation(TSSDC)
  8. Telangana State Seed
  9. Organic Certification Agency (TSSOCA)
  10. Veterinary and Horticultural Universities

Vice Chancellor Dr V Praveen Rao’s Overview on Seed Exhibition

The Vice Chancellor PJTSAU Dr V Praveen Rao gave the overview of the Seed Mela -2019 and he explained further. He said about the efforts made to supply of quality seed to the farmers needs to be appreciated. Dr Rao Said that, university is planning to release  8 new varieties in Rice, Pulses, Maize crops in next month. He also says, this year a dedicated stall has been arranged to explain about the new technologies to the farmers. He tendered his thanks to the farmers who are continuously encouraging the university scientists and adopted the newer technologies and new varieties. He added that for the benefit of the farmers simultaneously seed exhibitions were organized at various places. The places include Regional Agricultural Research Stations (RARS) at Jagitial, Warangal and Palem in Nagarkurnool District.

CM KCR’s Initiatives for Farmers’ Benefit

While speaking after the inauguration of  seed mela Agriculture Minister Sri S Niranjan Reddy also said few things. He confirmed that, from next year on wards seed Exhibitions will be organized in all the district head quarters to supply quality seeds to the farmers. Moreover, long term initiatives has been taken up by the Honorable Chief Minister of Telangana State Sri K Chandrashekar Rao. These initiatives brought tremendous and revolutionary changes in the agricultural sector in the state. 

Many states are implementing similar schemes in their respective states. The loan wavier would be implemented once the election code is over. Furthermore the government is firm to strengthen the agricultural sector in the state which is providing the large scale employment to the population.

Initiatives to be continued in the agriculture sector to ensure agriculture more profitable to the farmers in the state. Large number of farmers attended the seed mela and purchased seeds.

Term Extended to the VC of PJTSAU

The Agricultural Minister S Niranjan Reddy has announced in the meeting that, the term of Vice Chancellor Dr V Praveen Rao has been extended. He will serve the government for another three years by recognizing his services and efforts put in the agriculture. Normally extension of the term is given to any officer after completion of present term. But, in the case of Vice Chancellor Dr Praveen Rao, the Honorable Chief Minister of Telangana has recognized the importance.
