Virat Kohli wanted Shikhar Dhawan in One Day Internationals (ODIs) against England but he wasn’t about to be listened to, as selectors wanted to have another opener. That opener did well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kohli argued Dhawan is must. (Reported by Cricbuzz). Selectors then decided to pick Shikhar Dhawan for the ODIs against England earlier this year because of Kohli’s suggestion. Dhawan did well. Shikhar Dhawan scored solid 98 and 67 in the two ODI’s, which he played against England out of the three.
Suggestions are though good to know the way, which keeps Virat Kohli up to date with the knowledge of India’s cricket players. But he sometimes fails in picking the top players, who are dropped even if their previous performances too good.
