Aaron Finch Better Captain Than Babar Azam To Win Semi Final

Aaron Finch was out for naught against an incoming Shaheen Afridi ball to get leg before. From there David Warner and Mitchell Marsh played well to take Australia in the game. Yet, it was noticed so clearly that Aaron Finch better captain than Babar Azam to win Semi Final. His holding back Mitchell Starc after bowling him for just an over was a good move. Mitchell Starc did went for almost 10 an over later on, but this move helped Australia. Aaron Finch was clever enough not to give another over when he read that both Pakistani openers playing cautiously.

Though Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan scored quickly, but more than 12 runs if Pakistan’s middle order scored then the target would be tough. Starc brought back after 12 overs bowled at Pakistan.

Looking at Babar Azam’s captaincy, he wasn’t out of box to build more pressure on the Aussies. He gave another over, the fourth to Imad Wasim, which was a big mistake if not a blunder. Imad went for too many runs in his second over and in the powerplay, which keeps captains to bowl their slow bowlers just one over. And then attack bowling two fast bowlers in tandem. Babar Azam didn’t realized that and he went Afridi for the first and third over too. Pakistan’s captain could have used two best spinners after the powerplay to bowl more overs.

Bowling Tight

When Afridi was required to pick wickets he was left with just two overs, and that’s where Aaron Finch better captain than Babar Azam. He used his bowlers just to restrict the flow of runs rather than looking for wickets desperately. Babar Azam always wanted wickets. But in the end he did managed to take five wickets as Shadab Khan did bowl too good without any support from Mohammed Hafiz.

Had Imad Wasim supported Shadab Khan to bowl in tandem then it would be an end of Australia’s full quota of 20 overs without reaching even 165. That would be the strategy too good for Babar Azam to put breaks on flow of runs and he didn’t do so. Finch did and rewarded with a comfortable win. That’s the way better captains win matches not looking always to pick wickets. Wickets might fall because of the intent of the batters to up the ante.

To score quick runs often batters lose wickets. Bowling at least three overs reasonably tight to give not more than 20 runs always helps in the middle overs. Australia were bowling tight and Pakistan tried their best to attack and gave just too many runs, which was the fall of the unbeatable team.
