West Indies won the toss and decided to field first. Nicholas Pooran captaining the Caribbean side. His intent was to restrict India to a low total for West Indies to chase easily. Virat Kohli-Rishabh Pant Partnership Broken & more
Though India lost just one wicket at that moment, but the second ODI likely to go in Nicholas Pooran’s way. Rishabh Pant was fortunate to escape getting out himself as Nicholas Pooran’s throw wasn’t good to hit the stumps. A direct hit was required. KL Rahul walked in to join Kohli. At 43/3 India lost Virat Kohli too. Kohli caught behind easily by Shai Hope off Odean Smith. Suryakumar Yadav walked in and have to build a good partnership with KL Rahul. After 15 overs India reached not even more than 50 runs. Odean Smith picked two wickets in his first three overs. He bowled 3 overs and picked 2 wickets, had given way just 11 runs. West Indies restrict India as the score reads at that crucial moment just in favor of West Indies 47/3 off 15 overs.
India if not comes back strongly and scores not more than 220 then the series will be levelled at 1-1, where it would be not so bad. A not so one-sided ODI series. Let’s hope for the final ODI as the decider and it’s also likely that India will win the series if not today then possibly third and final ODI. Winning 3-0 is good than winning 2-1.
