Jasprit Bumrah is that bowler, which India couldn’t able to find a bit of him as replacement. There are talks going on for T Natarajan, M Siraj, or M Shami. However, India eyes Umran Malik just as a risk or a challengeable replacement for Jasprit Bumrah. The fastest bowler, which India owns already played few international games. Didn’t performed better with his fast bowling or impressed India or the selectors. He did well in the IPL, but still not ready for international cricket.
Umran Malik can consistently bowl 150kmph all his six balls of the over, but lacks variations. He needs to bowl yorker or slower ball and a hurried bouncer, and for this he needs to practice hard. There’s not much worry as far as spin department is concerned. Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi or Yuzvendra Chahal. From all these 4 four slow bowlers, couple of them would play in the T20 World Cup on and off.
Looking at the fast bowling attack, India would still be happy with Arshdeep Singh, Harshal Patel, and Deepak Chahar. It’s not likely that a player, who comes as a replacement would be in the playing 11. So, Umran Malik or Mohammed Shami likely to be one of the replacements.
As expected if things go well by winning couple of initial games in the T20 World Cup, India can’t take risks. However, the T20 game coming up between India and South Africa would likely to see Mohammed Siraj in the playing 11. If Siraj does good, then he would be included as a replacement for Bumrah.
