India’s star cricketer Virat Kohli’s batting is in some sort of trouble as he’s currently not playing good cricket. Whatsoever, Virat Kohli failing in just every match would not help India for a clean sweep on Jan 24. India can’t depend too much on opening pair Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma also not scoring at least BIG fifties. He’s unable to rotate strike too. All other middle-order batters including Virat Kohli failing just a bit almost every match.
Virat Kohli started this year too with a century as many have expected for him to continue scoring big runs. His back to back centuries include, in the end of 2022 and on Jan 10 2023. He scored 113 off 87 balls in the first ODI played at Barsapara Stadium in Assam.
That time Sri Lanka was in the receiving end. He simply failed in another ODI played in a series of three. However, he then comeback strong to win the player of the series award and was also the player of the match by scoring 166.
Again, he’s not scoring runs of the two ODIs, India played so far against New Zealand. Here again, India have good opportunity to clean sweep or whitewash New Zealand. Virat Kohli was dismissed cheaply even in the last ODI, which was totally one-sided. New Zealand was not in the game at anytime of the ODI match in Raipur.
The Bottom Part: Virat Kohli Failing…
If he fails again tomorrow, then it’s not likely for India to come-hard yet again for a clean sweep. Bowlers would do their job, Siraj, Shami or Kuldeep again would pick few wickets. New Zealand would look to finish the ODI series on a high, which would be unlikely if Virat Kohli scores big runs, a century or so.
India leads 2-0 to whitewash ODI series, ODI 3: on Jan 24, Time: 1: 30 IST, Venue: Indore.
